Designer Notes
During the War of the Alliance, CEF hovertanks would move far too quickly for prepared positions to be of much use. The great speed of the hovertanks allowed the CEF to bypass many of the trenches, foxholes, revetments, and other obstructions that the Northern Guard would put in place. In desperation, Engineering Grizzlies were modified with entrenching equipment: twin hip-mounted earth-moving cannons that would displace a great deal of dirt per shot. Once the foxholes were in place, the Grizzly could use its chain sword to cut down several nearby trees or large branches to provide additional cover for the infantry.

This process could be done rapidly and in such a way that once a WOTA battlefield was identified, infantry positions could be prepared. The Entrenching Grizzly would then hide in deep cover, waiting for the inevitable orders to fall back to the next battlefield...

(It takes 100 points of damage to a given hex to clear foxholes for 10 infantry troopers.)
